The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course is a method which can be used in daily life to bring a greater sense of calm equilibrium regardless of the pressures we are up against or the challenges we face. The specific practice of mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR), developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, has been shown in numerous clinical studies to improve stress-related physical symptoms, reduce psychological distress, and enhance emotional well-being. More than 400 hospitals are using this practice beyond an increasing numbers of disciplines in a variety of environments. Few examples of common challenges we face in our daily life. Often we sense not being really at the driver seat, but rather a sense of an Automatic Pilot to have control over us. We tend to focus on the future or holding to the past losing the opportunity to fully enjoy each moment for what it is, accepting it with no prejudgment, embracing it even if painful. When we feel objectively satisfied we cannot still sense happiness, we keep on chasing unknown gaps to fill without knowing what we exactly need and why. Frequently we tend to react instead of choosing how to respond. Main requirements for participating in this course are Openness towards ourselves and what a Mindfulness mind set can do.
